Isn’t it ironic how culturally we have come to believe that if we put ourselves before the needs of others we are somehow being selfish, self-centred or even neglectful?
Let’s stop and think about that notion for a moment. This message is telling us to continuously give of ourselves and only when we have time we should care for ourselves. Unfortunately many of us lead very busy lives with hectic schedules and unless we make sacrifices, we rarely have any down time.
When it comes to self-care, one of the most important habits to form is to spend quality time with yourself. Investing in you fills up your energy tank and it makes you feel more centred, grounded, and present in your life.
Being authentically you, without the layers of stress, fatigue and feelings of being overwhelmed allows you to give your loved ones, your job, your workout plan, your spiritual development or your hobbies, your full attention and energy.
This year put yourself first. Make a conscious decision to feed your soul and watch how all aspects of your life will begin to blossom.
