Most of us spend more time at work or engaged in work related activities than we actually spend at home with our families. Why not make your workplace a more enjoyable place to be? Fostering positive relationships in the workplace facilitates health and happiness at home and at work. Maintaining a positive workspace is also incredibly important to reduce stress levels and increase enjoyment at work.
Create Inspiration
We can easily get tied up with meetings, phone calls and deadlines and forget about our health and wellbeing while on the job. Create an area of inspiration in your office, whether it be a whiteboard to write a thought provoking quote, or a section of the lunch room that has motivational books, health magazines, or even a recipe exchange program. Look for ways to interact with your colleagues that are on a more personal level to improve communication and deeper connections.
If you have lost focus of your health goals, pair up with an accountability partner and motivate one another to pack healthy lunches, go for a walk on your lunch hour, or enjoy a yoga class after work.
Finally, make your personal workspace reflect your personality and your goals to act as a reminder for your bigger purpose in life. Decorate your workspace with letters, photos, images or anything else that is meaningful to you.
