I just picked up a copy of Vitality Magazine, February 2013 issue – The Trusted Source for Natural Health Solutions and was happy to see one of the main articles was written by Helkie Ferrie. The magazine cover states Natural Healthcare Rising in Popularity!

Her article reads ‘New Year – New Hope for Healthcare’. I’m among those that support her article. More research is reaching the general public about healthcare choices and the damaging effect of pharmaceutical drugs.

To cite her article,

“In 1998, the University of Toronto’s Bruce Pomeranz and his team published evidence in the Journal of the American Medical Association that properly prescribed drugs, taken as directed, had become the fourth leading cause of death in America. This explosive statistic had been obtained directly from the U.S. FDA’s own enormous database. By 2007, when the next large-scale analysis of pharmaceutical outcomes was undertaken, deaths and adverse events had increased 2.7 fold and a public health disaster was recognized.”

There is no question that some drugs are life savers. I’m not disputing this whatsoever but as intelligent, and informed people, we need to evaluate continuously the need for prescribed medications, that may not be so life saving, and seek alternate choices that are healthier for each and everyone of us.

She further states that Dr. Marty Makary, Researcher from John Hopkins School of Medicine wrote a book in 2012 called, Unaccountable (I intend to buy and read this book), further establishes that 30% of conventional healthcare is unnecessary and leads to deadly harm. (Vitality Magazine, Feb 2013)

This old battle continues between conventional medicine and holistic natural medicine.

As a Homeopathic Practitioner, I prefer natural choices when it comes to cosmetics, medicines, cleaners and so forth. I think we all need to do our own research and be comfortable in our choices to promote health, naturally.
