Interesting enough; I did my thesis in homeopathic medical school on Occupational Homeopathy (Occupational – meaning in the workplace). Within this thesis, I also uncovered a list of insurance companies that cover this wonderful medicine.

Two years ago, my research revealed at least 1/2 dozen insurance companies in Ontario provided coverage separate from Naturopathic medicine. This was great news. The general population who have benefits at work prefer to try new treatments if there is coverage to pay for their appointments and medicines.

I found only one company that provided homeopathic medicine in their health department – I was delighted that one courageous employer found and supported the benefits of homeopathy for its population. This is a good start but to be perfectly honest many Occupational Health Physicians of years gone by were in fact Homeopathic Doctors as well as Medical Doctors. Our history in medicine is an interesting read, if you have the interest.

Last week I received a phone call from Manulife surveying Classical Homeopaths in Ontario for the purpose of paying benefits. I was impressed! It seems many more people are giving homeopathy a try.

With the growing surgence of homeopathy in the province, the Ministry of Health decided to Regulate this medicine . We are presently undergoing the lengthy process of becoming Health Regulated Professionals under the RHP Act of 1991, like Doctors, Nurses and numerous others.
