Healthy choices are easily made when healthy options are readily available. Altering the lunch menu at a conference or in the workplace cafeteria allows busy employees a healthy option.
Instead of serving highly processed forms of protein, offer employees a vegetable based protein option for lunch. The most effective way is to offer a rich selection of salad bar items including fresh greens, beans, lentils, raw nuts and seeds (including raw chia and hemp), and a variety of fresh vegetables. Other excellent sources of protein include hard boiled eggs, free-range, organic chicken breast, and wild-caught fish.
Protein is a vitally important component of the diet because it is a building block for cell division, tissue maintenance and regeneration, and is responsible for many essential bodily functions. It is also used by the body, for energy.
Small changes can add up to huge results in your employee’s focus and productivity. Unprocessed, natural foods energize the body and contribute to sustainable energy levels throughout the day and won’t leave employees feeling drowsy and un-focused mid-afternoon. A balanced diet also boosts the immune system and improves overall health, decreasing absenteeism and sick days.
